Alliance of Families for Justice supports, empowers, and mobilizes families with currently and formerly incarcerated loved ones and justice involved individuals, marshaling their power to create systemic change and end mass incarceration in America. AFJ offers a range of free support services including: legal advice and representation, individual and family counseling, and defending the civil and human rights of formerly and currently incarcerated people. Hope in a Box helps educators use literature to ensure every LGBTQ+ student feels safe, welcome, and included at school. They provide Hope in a Box: curated boxes of books with LGBTQ+ characters, distinctive curriculum for these books, and coaching and mentorship on how to build an inclusive classroom. They currently support hundreds of schools in all 50 states and aspire to make LGBTQ-inclusive education the norm, not the exception, in every public school.
